Chasing Solace
The Story Behind Solace
Solace Studio was born from a place of loss, longing, and love.
2015 when I lost my father — yet the ache of his absence still feels as close as yesterday. The emptiness he left behind created a quiet space inside me, one I didn’t fully understand at the time.
But grief has a way of reshaping us.
It slows us down.
It makes us search for meaning.
It teaches us to listen to the silence.
In my own search for comfort, I found myself drawn to the word solace — a word that felt gentle, grounding, and honest. A word that captured exactly what I had been longing for: a feeling of being held, supported, understood.
Naming this studio Solace wasn’t just a choice; it was an awakening.
Creating helped me breathe again.
Making with my hands helped me feel connected again.
And slowly, it gave my grief someplace to rest.
As time passed, my purpose grew clearer through another kind of longing — the feeling of missing my children when they are away from me. Working to provide for the people who need me often means being apart from the ones I love most. That distance can be heavy, even when it’s necessary.
So Solace became more than an outlet.
It became my way of staying close.
My way of creating a future where I can be with my children at the right time, in the right way, without sacrificing our stability or our hearts.
Every piece I make carries the intentions of
A mother’s hope.
A daughter’s grief.
A woman’s strength.
A longing for connection, for comfort, for presence.
Solace Studio is my reminder that healing can take shape in our hands.
That love can be woven into clay, fiber, texture, and any form.
And that even in our hardest moments, we can create something warm, grounding, and meaningful.
My wish is simple:
That the pieces I create bring you the same gentle comfort they brought me —
a little solace for your home, and for your soul.
